I am a full time, galleried artist in the wine country region of Northern California.
These paintings are a continuing series of 8 x 10 inch impressions of Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties.
A few are painted in Southern California and other locations as well.
Nearly all of my paintings are done on location, at the scene ("in plein air").
My idea for these little paintings is to focus on one single lighting situation and to complete the piece before the light changes, usually within an hour and a half.
Even though these paintings are done fairly quickly, hopefully you will find a freshness in them that is sometimes lost when an artist overworks a piece.
